[Review] Ssanghwajeom

----------------------------------------------------------
Actually, I love a historical movie and especially hopelesslove, and the movie satisfied me. Many people are buzzing several things about the movie.

First, there are a lot of sexual scenes. I think the sexual scenes are so daring that exposure levels are higher than 'Sak-Gae'. It is picked as an critical point of success. The actor's naked body attracts many women to the theaters.

Second, the main character actor, Jo In-Sung shows up after a long time. I can't know what made him play in the movie, but his unexpected play made people interested. He even exposed a lot.

Else, the movie suggests the director's unusual analysis of the time. And the movie includes homosexuality.
But among them, the first main cause of the success is that the movie has a lot of secual scenes. It was really shocked. I recommand to watch the movie :)

story...(spoiler)
Actually, I love a historical movie and especially hopelesslove, and the movie satisfied me. The time of that movie is about the late Goryeo Dynasty. The king called Gong-min Wang was not able to get his wife with a child. Many of his lieges blamed him for no baby, and insisted that the king adopt a boy of Won which governed Goryeo. The king decided to have a baby with his sincere servant. Actually the king had fell in love with one of his male servant, Jo In-Sung. After the servant have a sex with the queen, he fell in love with her. The king is jealous of his wife a lot and finally he made the servant impotent and banned. One day the servant misunderstood that the queen, his lover, was killed by the king. So the servant went to the king to kill him. The two men died at last. The most impressed scene was that the king asked the servant just before dying, "Have you ever thought of me as your lover?"

Hello~ Mr. Kong.

Kong Jeong-taek, 74, the current - appointed - superintendent of Seoul Office of Education was elected. He plans to make more competition among students including elementary schools students. Specifically, he is going to introduce high school entrance exams again, place students by their scores and establish diverse class schools such as foreign language schools, international schools. He will increase the number of elite schools and bring more native English-speaking teachers.

I fully know that it's too early to talk about his education policy. But his education policy seems to overheat private education market. According to his education policy, many parents will cost education more and young students will lose chances to find their dream because they should only study without dreaming.

It
s true that private education helps students get high scores in a short time. Without going to institutions, students can get high scores if they have their will. What we miss is that high score is not the most important thing. That is what they want to be.  If the high score is the last purpose of studying, it's really terrible waste. Studying without a dream, it's useless. So finding dreams or talents is the first mission for young students including middle school students.

For what we educate students? For Korean future? No, we educate students to make them a member of our society and we hope them to live happily with a job and the family. Each of student's have a unique talent and interest, they need to know why they should study so hard. Getting high score can help them realize their dreams, but that
s not all.

Basically, our society like people who
 graduated from
high-level Univ. and many people believe that the academic background helps making a lot of money. So, parents try to make their sons enter S.K.Y. Univ. with hoping them to live comfortably. It's the original reason why the private education market has grown rapidly.

Our society should try to change people's thought about the school background. If so, people won't push thier children to study recklessly. They'll try to find a proper place
for their sons. All we should try to change our mind about the school background, and free the students from the war of school entrance.

1.       What do you think was the worst policy on your school time?

2.       Do you have a new idea for education like subject, studying hour?

3.       How will you educate your children?

4.       What do you think our society should do for reduce the education expense?

Who Will Reign on Sejong Street?

Seoul City will have completed the construction on Sejong street next June. The city government announced that they will build two statues(admiral Lee and King Se-Jong) in the north and the south each, and the announcement became a issue. People said that it's not proper to put two statues together in one place and one must hide the other. So the cith government will conduct a survey of netizens and citizens.

There are 4 plans : 1. building only a statue of hero Lee. 2. building only a statue of King Sejong. 3. building both of the two statues. 4. building some statues including admiral Lee, King Sejong, Jeong Do-Jeon and so on. But the size of statue is very big, so one should reign on the street.

I'd like to vote for King Sejong. First, the name of the street is Sejong, so it is a good-match. Second, even if admiral Lee is as respectable as King Sejong, Lee is a kind of symbol of 'Force'. As well, the king is higher than the admiral simply. Third, there is a Sejong center and a small park will be built, then a statue of a bright king will be proper. Forth, there is no reason that the statue of the admiral Lee stands there. I hope to see King Sejong on Sejong street.

Early English Education

In the morning, I was going to work, then I saw two children and their mother. They were talking in English fluently. The two children was arguing with small things in English. I was very surprised. I heard about early English education many times, but I haven't felt that. Their pronunciation was like the natives'. I couldn't listen to them exactly because of the noise of the bus, but they had a talk without any problem.

They may have been in English-speaking coutries or have studied English since being born because their mother who is absolutely a Korean speaks in English. Moreover, they seem to have no problem with Korean. How amazing! If I had a son, what I would feel when I see the children speaking in English very fluently. I would register an English kinidergarten for my son because I know that everyone should study English, so if my son learn English earlier than others, he can get his way easily.

Is it a mother's mind? That's not all. The society make people crazy with English. We would rather take English as the second language. Will it make the situation worse? It could be, but only for at most 10 years. At first, Korean-speaking parents will have a hard-time to educate their family. Then, the next generation can learn English easily than now, because the number of English speaking people will increase.

For a long time, private education has been one of the social problems because it has a big portion on a family budget. Many of working people in Korea think that they should study English. If so, the government should make some policies for people. After seeing Enligsh speaking kids, I felt a sense of inferiority and I was a little sad because I know the children had no idea about the reason why they had learned English so early.

What I want to see in “The First Wives Club”

These days, a soap opera, "The First Wives Club", is very popular. The story is about having an affair. There are 3 couples and one of each couple had an affair at the beginning of the soap opera. They was very cruel to their spouses, divorced and left their family in the end. But nobody was happy with a new lover because of many reasons. One missed the ex-wife who changed to be very beautiful with her job after divorce. Another realized the new spouse was very bad man. Now, the 3 people who left their family try to come back to their family.

What I can't understand, even though they left their family very cruely, the soap opera's writer seems to make them come back to their family. It's nonsense! I remember how they was merciless. Moreover, each spouse of them finds a new life and trys to start new family. But it seems to fail because their ex-spouse try to come back. What a awful story it is! The soap opera is almost at the last part, and nothing is decided. If the end is turning back, I must get angry and it goes wrong with encouraging good and punishing evil.

A national broadcast must enlighten people not to divorce, but this case is different. The main motive is not about whether one's spouse loves one or not. They treated their spouses very cruely even beating and were very mean. It's natural for them to be punished, and the writer shows people a tragic end of bad people. Nevertheless I think they will succeed to return to their family for some reasons like the title meaning.
